Introduction to Poll Workers and Voters with Disabilities

Thank you for becoming a poll worker!

Poll workers are a critical part of our local, state, and national elections and play a key role in the voting experience of disabled people.  Election officials recognize that voters with disabilities benefit when polling place staff and volunteers are given basic information about the disability community and their needs on election day.

The following web pages provide this information in a user-friendly format for election officials to share with poll workers.  The content is designed to provide an overview of training topics recommended for polling place staff and volunteers in the U.S. DOJ’s document, The Americans with Disabilities Act and other Federal Laws Protecting the Rights of Voters’ with Disabilities

The content also serves as a quick reference on election day.
